Default basemap configuration

SuperMap iPortal provides default basemaps for users to choose when they Visualize data with DataViz. As the administrator, you can add, delelte and sort these default basemaps. By default, China Dark map is set as the basemap.

• Adjust the default basemap order

Add default basemaps

Log in to the portal home page as the administrator, click Management>Site Config>DataViz, select "Default Basemap" tab to add basemaps. You can add the default basemaps by the following three ways:

1. Add internet map as default basemap

iPortal supports selecting the mainstream internet maps as default basemaps. You can add them by clicking the "Add Internet map" button, check the target internet map name in the pop-up dialog box, click "OK" to finish adding. Currently, Tianditu map, Tianditu image, Tianditu terrain, Baidu map, OpenStreetMap, Google Maps and GSI Japan maps are supported to add as basemaps. When adding the Tianditu map as the basemap, you need to type in your applied Key from Tianditu API website.

2. Add the map services in iPortal as default basemap

The map services created or added in iPortal can be set as basemaps for DataViz. You could add by clicking "Add more" button, and select service type or input the key word of the specific map name to search the map you want to add in the pop-up dialog box. Then check the corresponding checkbox, click "OK", the selected maps will be added into the default basemap list.

3. Customize a default basemap by adding the map service address

You can also customize default basemaps. Click "Custom" button, then inpput the map services address in the pop-up dialog box, click "OK", the map will be added to the deault basemap list automatically.

After you add default basemaps, the normal users can select these maps as the basemap when creating a web map.

Delete default basemaps

All the basemaps including the pre-added China Dark map can be removed. Check the chekboxes of the corresponding basemaps, click "Delete" to remove them. They can be added again.

Adjust the default basemap order

iPortal provides the ability to prioritize the display order of a basemap. When you add many basemaps in DataViz, it's very useful for you to set the commonly used basemaps at the front for users in your portal site to have a good experience.

Specific steps: Drag the target map to the front. After finish all the adjusting actions, click "Save".
